What Is Oil Cleansing?

Oil cleansing is the most effective way to remove oil, dirt, makeup and other pollutants. It helps blackheads that are stuck in the skin over time and it doesn’t affect your microbiome, it helps good bacteria thrive. Oil cleansing is not like every other facial wash. You are simply not washing the face, you are cleansing it.

Why Hemp Seed Oil??

Hemp seed oil is amazing for acne prone skin, Hemp seed oil is rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids, which can help repair damaged skin. It also has a Comedogenic Rating: 0 / 5, which means it won’t clog pores, at all. We use essential oils to disinfect and combat acne while keeping the skin moisturized to prevent wrinkles.

How Does It Work?

We use the hot washcloth method to open up the pores and remove impurities while exfoliating the skin. Without ever having to splash water on your face. You can use it to remove makeup, moisturize your skin and your hair. This is a revolutionary way of removing dirt. We understand water doesn’t mix with oil. So why would we use water to remove oil?

1. Apply oil and massage

Give yourself a good 2-minute, high-pressure, stress relieving, massage in the morning and at night. Make sure you face is dry and your hands are clean. Massage the oil moving upwards, you can use this for your entire body.

This helps to stimulate the facial muscles and bring oxygen to your face. This is considered a natural form of anti-aging skin care. It contributes to a natural glow and an even complexion.

2. Heat up washcloth

Soak your towel in hot water and then place it on your face until it cools down. Do this a minimum of 3 times.

If you have some extra time you can pour some hot water into a bowl and add essential oils like eucalyptus or lavender to further help soothe the skin.

Placing a hot washcloth over your face opens your pores and helps the Bellas Body Works Oil Cleansers get rid of dirt and acne. Only oil can remove oil and applying a hot compress helps decrease inflammation and improves circulation to the face. Glowing skin here we come!

3. Gently exfoliate the skin

There are a lot of handy skin exfoliators out there. We like washcloths because they are inexpensive and if you use a clean one every time they can be your best friend!

You want to scrub in circular motions to make sure you don’t irritate the skin. Go slow and take your time, don’t forget your neck. Once you finish, go ahead and feel your skin. If you have successfully removed all of your dead skin cells, your face should be as soft as a baby’s bottom! Did you know? A lot of people oil cleanse their entire bodies. We love that!

For those of you who think your face will be oily after this. Think again, try it for yourself.

4. Re-apply oil cleanser as a moisturizer

The best part about this entire process is that you really only need one product to cleanse, remove makeup and moisturize.

Go ahead and re-apply a couple drops of the oil cleanser to further moisturize the skin. Our oil cleansers do not contain castor oil, therefore the chances of your skin becoming dry is minimized.

5. Makeup Remover

Option 1: Apply a pump of the oil cleanser on a wipe (cotton preferred) and remove all of your makeup using the wipe.

Option 2: To fully cleanse the skin, Follow steps 1-4.
